About Marie Curie

Marie Curie Cancer Care

Marie Curie Cancer Care was founded in 1948 and became a registered charity in 1952, with the aim of providing specialist care for cancer patients  both at home and in specialist hospices.  Today the charity cares for around 31,000 people a year through its nine hospices and  network of Marie Curie nurses, and remains committed to constant improvement in end of life care through an extensive programme of research.  Visit the Marie Curie Cancer Care website for more information.

Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool

The Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool offers specialist care for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.  The hospice aims to meet the needs of people from all cultures and communities, with its 30-bed inpatient unit and associated day therapy services providing physical, emotional and spiritual care for patients together with support for the people who are close to them.  The hospice employs a team of health and social care professionals, including medical and nursing staff specially trained in pain and symptom control, occupational therapists, chaplains, physiotherapists and social workers.  All services are provided completely free of charge and so the hospice relies heavily on charitable donations.  If you want to know more about its invaluable contribution to the local community, visit the Liverpool hospice webpage.
